Art, Color, Design

In the classroom: I help students develop a grammar of design, letterforms, color and 3D practice. Encouraging them to focus on the areas of design that reveal their interests and best skills.

In the field: I have been fortunate to work as a colorist with Hugh A. Boyd Architects, NJ on architectural color palettes, murals, and mosaics for markets and restaurants in the US and the Philippines. Honored by awards including:

2008 Interior Design magazine, Merit Award: Retail, Best of Year Awards
1998 American Institute of Architects, AIA Honor Award for Interior Architecture

Performances: Ballet, modern dance, swimming in Atlanta, Boston, New York City inspired by a feminist strength for independent aspirations.

A partnership: with Michael Simon incited an inventive relationship of design, painting, potting and writing the book:

“This is the best summing up of a talented potter who exemplifies that 1960s inspired revitalization of the American craft scene. For readers who are interested in making or collecting ceramics, this is essential.”
-David McClelland, Andover, NY (Library Journal Review)
